Sadar Manzil

Sadar Manzil (Shaukat Mahal) served as the royal courtroom of the Nawabs who ruled Bhopal in the olden days. Today the building serves as the headquarters of the Municipal Corporation. This place is famous for its exceptional architecture and aesthetic beauty, with its brick-red color and grand design. The main entrance consists of a massive wooden door, which leads to a smaller main gate. The first floor comprises of a huge terrace and was accessible only by the royal family while the second floor is flanked by four majestic domes on the corner.

MP Tribal Museum

At the epic, ‘Janjaatiya Sanghralaya’ or Tribal Museum located in Bhopal, the world of indigenous tribes is depicted with much authentic skill and finesse.
Inaugurated in 2013 by the Honorable President of India- Shri Pranab Mukherjee, the museum showcases historical and cultural narratives depicting different facets of tribes inhabiting the state of Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh.

Jama Maszid

Jama Masjid, officially known as Taj-ul-Masajid, is a popular mosque in Bhopal. The largest mosque in India, it is not only a religious spot but a tourist attraction too. The construction of the mosque was commissioned by the third rulers of Bhopal-Nawab Shah Jahan Begum of Bhopal, wife of Baqi Mohammad Khan during the reign of Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar. The construction continued by her daughter Sultan Jahan Begum but could not complete it in her lifetime due to lack of funds and the war of 1857.

Manuabhan Tekri

Manuabhan Tekri, Bhopal has a popular Jain temple called MANUA BHAN KI TEKRI (JAIN TEMPLE) where people can go either on foot or on rope-way. Manuabhan Tekri is also known as Mahaveer Giri. It is very popular for its scenic views.


Founded by the legendary Paramara king of Dhar Raja Bhoja (1010-53 A.D) has remains of its magnificent Shivatemple and cyclopean dam. Raja (King) Bhoja was, an engineer, a warrior, a great administrator and a man of formidable vision.

Buddhist Monuments

Sanchi  is the location of several Buddhist monuments dating from the 3rd century BCE to the 12th century CE and is one of the important places of Buddhist pilgrimage. It is a nagar panchayat in Raisen district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Toranas surround the Stupa and they each represent love, peace, trust, and courage. The ‘Great Stupa’ at Sanchi is the oldest stone structure in India and was originally commissioned by the emperor Ashoka the Great in the 3rd century BC.

Kankali Mandir

It takes 26 minutes to travel from Bhopal to Kankali Mandir. Approximate driving distance between Bhopal and Kankali Mandir is 22 kms or 13.7 miles or 11.9 nautical miles . Travel time refers to the time taken if the distance is covered by a car.

Gufa Mandir

Gufa Mandir is located at Lalghati, near the Idgah hill which is about 5kms from the city center. Gufa Mandir is a temple believed to be discovered by late Swami Narayandas during the year 1949. 

The large temple complex of Gufa Mandir with many natural caves, houses beautiful idols of Lord Shiva, Ram- Laxman, Sita, Hanuman and Goddes Durga. Every day, large number of devotees from different parts of the world throng here to have darshan of the deity. 

Gohar Mahal

Gohar Mahal, situated on the banks of the Upper Lake, is one of the beautiful palaces in Bhopal. An architectural marvel, this palace was built by the first woman ruler of Bhopal, Gohar Begum in 1820. Designing of this palace depicts a perfect blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture styles. As the palace has not been maintained properly, it is undergoing a path of renovation. This will help the palace restore its original grandeur.


Bhimbetka is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, group of rock shelter painting, an archeological treasure. It is close (45kms) to Bhopal city of Madhya Pradesh State. Surrounded by the northern fringe of the Vindhya ranges, Bhimbetka lies 45 kms south of Bhopal. In this rocky terrain of dense forest & craggy cliffs, over 600 rock shelters belonging to the Neolithic age recently discovered.
